The observation deck of the Tower of the Lakeuden Risti “Cross of the Plains”, designed by world-famous architect Alvar Aalto, offers views over the city and all the way to the plains. A guided tour from the tower provides a convenient way to hear the whole story of the city, from old times to the present day. The tower tour is also a convenient alternative to a traditional city tour.
We will get a bird’s eye view of Seinäjoki with a local guide. We will take a lift to the top of the tower of the Lakeuden Risti Church. From the observation deck of the tower, which height is 65 meters, we can see the developing city and vast farmland. We will get a sense of the space and the opening landscapes, as well as the unique features of the buildings of the Aalto Centre at the base of the tower. We hear the story of the city’s authentic growth from Östermyra Manor to the railway line, to a trading centre for the whole of South Ostrobothnia and the number one city for entrepreneurship.
