Kalajärven Matkailukeskus is Seinäjoki’s largest tourism destination in terms of visitor volumes. This four-star campsite (according to the Nordic campsite classification) has been voted the best in several national surveys. There is space for 340 caravans as well as various holiday apartments to rent. In addition to camping and accommodation, the centre offers a great selection of activities for the whole family. The site has a beach, a barbecue area, an accessible nature trail and observation wood, a waterslide and a summer theatre. Other activities include fishing, cycling, tennis and mini golf.
The centre is located approximately three kilometres from Peräseinäjoki and 30 kilometres from Seinäjoki. High-quality restaurant and meeting facilities are also available, and a company called Komiat Hetket organises recreational activities for workplaces and other visitors. The centre houses the Finnish Emigrant Museum, which has exhibits of Finnish emigrants’ life from around the world.
