Seinäjoki City Theatre

The Seinäjoki City Theatre is part of the Aalto Centre, a complex designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. Aalto drew up the preliminary plan for the theatre in 1968. The City Theatre celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013. The theatre has four stages. The main stage or Alvar Hall has 429 numbered seats, the adaptable Elissa studio has 100 seats, Verstasteatteri has 60 and the new Aino stage has 100 seats. The restaurant can accommodate up to 120 people.

Each year, the theatre premieres around half a dozen new productions, with 250 performances in total. These include in-house and joint productions as well as guest productions.
